I`m here today with a new page in my Scrap FX Art Journal. I love where this journey is taking me – when I made my first Art Journal spread for this blog my intention was not to create a Journal dedicated to Scrap FX. BUT I love exploring the products the brand offers, and I love playing with the stamps & stencils so this journal has become dedicated to this blog and a tradition as my first of the moth post in the Scrap FX blog. I picked the bold color range from the current challenge at Mixed Media Place (see below).
This October I have been playing with these products: Feather B Chipboard, Fancy Feathers , Silhouette Small, Scribble Script stencil, Circle Weave stencil
I used different bright colored acrylics from Tattered Angels as base for my pages. I added the paints randomly with a broad flat brush and then dried it with a heater. I was really keen to see how the Circle Weave stencil would turn out. I decided to use black chalkboard mist from Tattered Angels to figure it out. The effect turned our really cool. The pattern in combination with the bright acrylics looks like a Oriental rug.
I also added more texture & contrast with white gesso that I applied through the Scribble Script stencil. The white letters really pop against the colorful background. I added the black chipboard feather for even more dimension and the black silhouette feathers tie really well in with the theme.
I really love how this spread turned out and can´t wait until next month when I get the chance to continue my journey in this Scrap FX Art Journal (as I nowdays call it…).
I also entered this spread to the September Challenge with Mixed Media Place.
Thanks for stopping by today!
