Perfectly Imperfect Air Balloon {MMP Creative Gym #21}

You know those moments when creativity just hits you - well that happened to me the other day while browsing trough internet and my favorite pages. At the Mixed Media Place blog I found this months challenge and just knew immediately what to create for it - a light bulb air balloon!

It was something with the picture of the balloon and quote that really got me going - I don´t know really. I just knew... 

I started with the obvious light bulb that I painted with Metallic Acrylics. I needed some sort of hanging mechanism so I stacked up a couple of mechanical on top of the bulb and fastened strings to it. 

I my bulb to represent freedom and for me the possibility to move forward is closely connected to freedom. Therefor I added mechanical propeller to the balloon. 

To be free does come with a bit of bumps and bruises along the way so my balloon could not be to "sweet". I added a worn effect by adding glass glitter, micro beads and some bits and pieces from my spare box of metal. And I love the quote - to be perfect is not something to strive for - dare to be Perfectly Imperfect (love those words by Heidi Powell).
