Today I want to share a altered wood box that I transformed into a Jewel box using papers from the Fortune Teller Collection from 7 Dots Studio.
The base of this project is a simple wood box with hinges that I painted with acrylics and crackle paste. To highlight the cracks and the sides of the box I dry brushed paint on the spots that I wanted to be in focus. I painted the inside of the box with two tones of blue and then when dry added pieces of patterned paper and a sentiment sticker inside the lid.
I really love how the lid of the box turned out! I cut a piece out the eye from the "Soul" paper and glued it to the top of the lid. I also added a die cut heart and a sentiment sticker. To seal the surface and make it really durable I used a product called Diamond Resin. It is a two component resin that dry clear and really, really hard. It also create a dept and dimensional effect to the patterned paper.
Of course the Jewel box need some jewels inside! I cut out small pieces from the Fortune Teller 6x6 paper pad, mounted them in bezels and sealed with Diamond Resin again. I used sentiment stickers on one of the bezels. They can be used together all 3 or just one at the time.
Thank you for visiting today!
